ProFuture Accounting Academy Inc. ("ProFuture," "Academy," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, to whom we disclose it, and the choices and rights you have in connection with your personal information.
This Policy applies to the websites located at https://profuturetaxacademy.ca and https://training.profuturetaxacademy.ca (collectively, the "Site"), and to any services, content, courses, memberships, or communications provided in connection with the Site (the "Service").
We comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and, where applicable, the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002. If we collect personal information from residents of Quebec, we also comply with Quebec’s Law 25. 1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect personal information you provide voluntarily when you register for a course, purchase a product, book a consultation, submit a form, contact support, or interact with our community. This includes:
- Full legal name
- Email address and telephone number
- Mailing address and, where applicable, business address
- Business legal name, HST registration number, and CRA business number (only when you request an HST invoice)
- Payment card details (processed by our third-party payment processors — we do not store full card numbers)
- Login credentials (username and securely hashed password)
- Course enrolment, progress, attendance, and completion data
- Questions, posts, comments, and content you submit in the community
- Testimonials, reviews, and feedback you voluntarily share
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address, approximate geographic location, and internet service provider
- Browser type, version, operating system, and device identifiers
- Referring URL, pages visited, time spent on pages, and click behavior.
- Date and time of access and session duration
- Video playback and course engagement data
1.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Site uses cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar technologies to operate core Site features, remember your preferences, measure marketing effectiveness, and deliver a better user experience. - Send course updates, new offerings, webinar invitations, and marketing communications (only with your express consent, in compliance with CASL)
- Moderate community discussions and enforce our Comment Policy and Terms & Conditions
- Analyse and improve the Site, our courses, and our marketing performance
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, chargebacks, and security incidents
- Comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations under Canadian law and CPA Ontario rules
3. Consent
By submitting personal information to us, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Where required by law, we will seek your express consent for specific uses (for example, before sending commercial electronic messages). We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf — payment processing, website hosting, course delivery (LMS), email delivery, analytics, video hosting, customer support, and accounting — under contractual confidentiality obligations and limited to the purpose for which we share the information.
- Professional Advisors: With our lawyers, accountants, bankers, insurers, and other professional advisors, where reasonably necessary.
- Legal Requirements: When required to comply with a subpoena, court order, CRA request, or other legal process; to protect our rights or property; or to investigate and prevent fraud or illegal activity.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, subject to customary confidentiality obligations.
- With Your Consent: Any other sharing for which we have your express consent.
5. Google Analytics, Advertising, and Third-Party Platforms
We may use Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other analytics or advertising platforms to understand Site usage, measure campaign performance, and deliver relevant advertisements. These services use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your use of the Site over time and across third-party websites.
These services collect information in the manner described in their own privacy policies. They may use DART cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on visits to our Site and other sites; the information collected does not include personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, physical address, or CRA number. 6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required to meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations. Financial transaction records and HST invoices are retained for a minimum of six (6) years from the end of the taxation year to which they relate, in accordance with CRA recordkeeping requirements. Account records may be retained for the duration of your enrolment plus a reasonable archival period.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These safeguards include encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, regular security reviews, and staff confidentiality obligations.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that is reasonably likely to cause significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada in accordance with PIPEDA’s breach notification requirements.
8. International Data Transfers
We are located in Ontario, Canada, but our service providers may process personal information in the United States, India, or other jurisdictions. By using the Site, you acknowledge and consent that your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions that may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take reasonable steps (including contractual safeguards) to ensure an adequate level of protection.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including CRA, QuickBooks, TaxCycle, Zoho, our payment processor, and others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party website. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or services. The revised Policy will be posted on the Site with an updated “Effective Date.” Material changes will also be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after the revised Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
